Web Help for Your Small Business

Andrew

Welcome to Andrew, Help Me - where you can can find web help for your small business. I specialize in creating and maintaining websites for small businesses - to help you grow your business and engage with your customers. I provide a personal touch - as you are working directly with me and me alone. In today's world it's important that your business have a presence on the web - so your customers can find you.

I can help you build a new website or with your existing site. I can help you with a design for your site, install a photo album, a forum or a blog. I can help you get pictures ready for your site, integrate your logo into the site and suggest some common content. See what I've done for other clients by checking out my Portfolio.

I've been working on websites for about 15 years - starting in college. I've seen the web grow and change dramatically in those years. Some of my early websites today seem so out of touch with today's world- but they had an impact. Even with all the amazing things available today the basics are still important: usable navigation, meaningful content, contact information and a website that is easy to use.

What's a Domain Name?

A Domain Name is the what people type in when accessing a web page. It's an english-like name that is much friendlier than the actual numbers used by the Internet (i..e andrewhelpme.com instead of 65.254.248.179). This is the most important thing to keep control of - as you may change a lot of things - but your domain name is what your customers remember and know.

What Services do you recommend?

I recommend using hover.com for reserving your domain name(s). They have a simple and clean interface (no upselling) for about $15 a year. For hosting I recommend using fatcow.com - as I can provide you, through them, a good value on hosting (the machines that make the site work).

What about Facebook and Twitter?

For most business I recommend creating a Facebook FAN page. Facebook charges no money for these and they provide you an opportunity to interact with your customers. You can advertise your facebook page on your website in order to get more "fans". Additionally you can create a "blog" to publish information your business and automatically publish those to Facebook and Twitter.
